Disability Specific Curriculum - for vision impaired with students integrated into mainstream classes as much as possible. * Key Learning Areas (KLAs) English Mathematics Science Study of Society and the Environment Technology The Arts- includes Visual Arts, Music, Drama, Dance and Media Health and Physical Education Languages Other Than English (LOTE) – Years 4 – 7
The curriculum is delivered through integrated units across Science, SOSE, Technology and the Arts. * Information and Communication Technology (ICT) - This is integrated into all of the KLAs. * Outdoor Education – An Outdoor Education program involving Camps and a variety of Excursions is part of the curriculum from P-7 and is considered a very important part of our school curriculum and all students are expected to attend. * Religious Education (when approved by parents), Instrumental Music-Strings, Band, Recorder, Inter-school Sport, Choir * Enrichment Programs – These operate within whole class groups and with smaller focus groups drawn from the KLA based curriculum and co curricular areas eg. Maths Team Challenge, OzSpell, National Curriculum Competitions, Enterprise Education, Chess Club, Pottery Group.
An enrichment program runs one afternoon/week for early years classes. * Special Needs
A committee operates to ensure that the special needs of students are met eg. students with learning difficulties and disabilities, behaviour needs, gifted and talented. Independent or modified education programs are developed for some students and appropriate assistance external to the school is sought.
